    07.25.2008 Casting Crowns Concert

Happy Birthday Erick. This was Erick's real present for his 17th birthday. I bought these tickets for him a month or so ago, for a Christian Rock/Contemporary band called the Casting Crowns. We drove down on Friday to the concert (it was in Bozeman about 4 hrs away) and stayed overnight in a hotel. It was just mom & son bonding time and it was fun! We listened to their CD's all the way there in the car and were really excited. We had some dinner then went to the show. We had pretty good seats about 10 rows up to the right of the stage.

They were AWESOME to watch, honestly, the BEST concert i have ever been to-seriously. It was amazing. Also we ended up sitting right next to a man and his son (about 10yrs old) that we actually knew from our home town Corvallis! Talk about a small world.

They had awesome violin solo's, drum solo's and more. And we got their newer CD which was fun to listen to on the way home the next day.

On a side note I finally broke down and sponsored a child through World Vision. I had the opportunity this past Spring at the Women of Faith concert in Spokane, but didn't think i could manage the sponsorship each month. The more i thought about it, it's just 1 less dinner out a month, and these children need help. So you may hear me mention Joyce from the Philippines in the future, she is the 7yr old girl our family is sponsoring through World Vision. Unlike alot of other oraganizations- 86% of the funds we give on a monthly basis go directly to the child/their family. To learn more you can visit their website at www.worldvision.org.
