    The Garden..a Montana tradition

So we have lived here over 5 years, and have cultivated nothing but weeds in this thing. I have a beautiful fenced & irrigated garden. We specialize in weeds of any kind. We poison it each year...they come back. Not THIS year. This year we will plant! So here begins the saga. Of the weed pulling, roto-tilling, rock picking, muddy floors in my house, family fun. At least that is what i thought...this will be a FUN family project. Uh-huh. Feel free to slap me now. FUN is no longer in my vocab. This has been a 4wk project thus far...and it has only begun. These photos are from the early days of my insanity.

Bubba decided to help. Dani helped too, but their "helping" usually lasted about 10 minutes on average and they would go back to something else. I am CONVINCED the prior owners were growing rocks! We picked so many rocks out of here some the size of a quater, many the size of a human head, Seriously! And the husband expected ALL the rocks to be picked out of said garden! Gimme a break!

E spent many a day after school, tilling and rock picking. We toiled just about every day on this thing to get it ready for planting.

And was typical, we worked until 9 or 9:30 at night, literally until it was too dark to see anything anymore. Did i mention FUN?

    05.03.2009 A Wedding

Congrats to Laura and Randall Walker. Laura is my friend and hairdresser. They were actually married on this day last year in a civil ceremony but wanted to have a "real" wedding instead. It was great.

    05.01.2009 What happens when...

This is what happens when your husband is out of town and out of sheer exhaustion you decide to stay in bed when you know full well the kids are fully awake and "up to something". I did the "please let mommy sleep" thing...and they did..minus the 15 times they came in asking can we do this or eat that in that 2 hour period. You see, they are getting to the age (at least the Diva is) that they can pour their own cereal, and turn on the TV or the DVD player by themselves. With daddy out of town momma just needed a bit more rest to recover. Dani informs me that she can take care of Bubba. So she did. What my creative little ones also did (quite ingenious dontcha think) is use some oversized paper, string from a "make your own necklace" kit, some scissors (i know...not scissors!), and tape and voila! Homemade box. They are 5 and 7yrs old people! I don't think i could have pulled this off! Anywhew they made me a present. And wrote on the box. (..translation...From Danielle and Bubba You can open this now. (First it said "know" for the word "now" and Hello after that, but she must've figured out her mistake and did a scribble to cover that up LOL)

And the best part was where they had used paper towels to wrap up money from the vacation fund into little sacks and tied them with the necklace string as mini presents. Aww thanks. I get to keep my own change! Well it's the thought that counts. They got an A+ and got mommy out of bed...which i think was their goal. .....Now to clean up the mess

    Katie the Wondercat

Here is Katie, a.k.a. "Sparta" asleep in the sink. No wait, she woke up and put on her annoyed face after i took a couple of pictures! We love this girl.. but stay tuned, there just might be a playmate in her future! Awww, the Queen de-throned!

Has it REALLY been that long..and other ramblings!

I know, I KNOW! Has it really been since April 20th that i last blogged? I am sorry! Anyone who knows me knows that means I have been a busy lil girl in the "real world". Hmm, lets recap, 3 kids - 3 different schools, 3 different "last day of school" parties/activities. A garden...well that took up 4 weekends in a row and countless week nights- with a massive sunburn to go with it! What else?! A wedding, my husband out of town for 2 1/2 weeks, family in town, and to "cap it off" (pun intended) High School graduation for E. Whew! And lets just say if this was "Not Me Monday" I DID NOT sleep from 4pm Sunday to 6am on Monday morning once all this was done. But since I did, I will tell you that it's true. I almost feel human again - so sit down and hold on...i feel some bloggin coming on!
