06.26.2008 Matching Outfits
Ok, so i couldnt insert the pic before, but it was too cute to not show everyone. Rarely is there something i would wear that would match my daughter, but they had some cute combinations in Pismo at this little shop, so we got these. Probably not the last time you will see us in matching digs- but I'll try real hard to spare you guys for a while! Loving the surf and sand and pier in the background. HUNTINGTON BEACH ROCKS!!! Takes me back to all those times Shannon and I skipped school and went to the beach. Oops, did i say that out loud? Scratch that...LOL Of course i was a perfect angel as a teenager, never missed a day of school unless i was sick. I was sick alot.
06.26.2008 Huntington Beach here we come!!!
The sad yet exciting part of our vacation was that we had so much to do, so much to see, and so little time to do it. After just a few short days at grandma's we headed down to So. Calif. for the rest of the fun. I thought it would be fun to get a place right on the beach-and found the only even 1/2 way affordable option.

Note to anyone else thinking of beach on a budget...this IS NOT the place to stay. It was dirty (stuff under bed skirts not vacuumed, ick!) and quite the busy place at night if you know what i mean. The LOCATION was everything though, we literally walked a block down & crossed PCH to get to the beach. We had a great day afternoon at the beach-even thought it was late by the time we got in!
Danielle begged and begged and we wore our matching mom & me swimsuits which was actually quite cute i thought! I Cant insert that picture for some reason??? Lindsey and my niece Michelle had fun body surfing, and of course the kids made more sand castles! It was cold by the time we left so we all donned our sweatshirts for the walk back.

Danielle took our picture on the grass a block from the hotel. It was another fun day in paradise. (except the part an hour later where i lock my keys in the trunk of my car & have to have Darla call AAA to get me unlocked!) Then we had dinner at Don Jose's...since no trip would be complete w/out a meal from there! I LOVE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!!!

06.25.2008 SLO Childrens Museum
What a great idea my family had of going to the newly opened/remodeled Childrens Museum in San Luis Obispo. We were so excited that Grandma could take the day off and AUntie Kelly & AUbrey could come too! The kids took some great pics in front of the museum (this was my favorite) and it almost looked like they liked each other...oh vacation bliss!
Auntie Lynnette actually took an early lunch break & came by for a visit. The kids were making/serving the fake plastic food at the little diner and were excited to see her! Obviously.
They had lots of different stations for kids to do hands on role playing and of course bubba loved to put on the firemans coat, had, boots, etc for a ride in the fire truck. He also loved the TRAINS and played with them for a long time! It was hard to tear him away.
I think Danielle had gotten overstimulated, and got a pretty bad attittude once we went upstairs (just "baby stuff" on that floor) where the train station and book room were for the littler guys. Kelly - ever the patient teacher- got her involved in playing with some cardboard building blocks and she had fun!
06.24.2008 Avila/Pismo Beach fun
Can you believe what the kids wanted to do today?! Yep, the beach again. Today we all left from the dunes area, through Monarch Butterfly Fields then strolled down the beach. It was colder than the day before so we needed our sweatshirts. The kids got lots of tiny shells and Danielle was obsessed with finding Sand Dollars! Almost all were broken in one way or another. Then we walked around Pismo, had lunch at Chelle's and did some strand shopping! Oh what a fun day!

Danielle and Bubba loved "getting to know our cousin" time. Danielle wanted to hold Aubrey and mother her, and Timothy, ever the baby of the family wasn't so sure. Why did this little thing that couldn't even talk get all the attention? Huh?!!!

Lindsey and I took a couple of hours to do a tourist thing while the kids played at grandma's. We had fun renting this cute little 3 wheeled contraption that was alot more like a motorcycle than a car. We rode all over Pismo and laughed and laughed. It was a fun thing to do, and something different and "tourist-y". LOL

06.23.2008 Avila Beach Fun
Today we got to spend a day at Avila Beach with Uncle Andy, Auntie Kelly and Baby Aubrey. It was awesome!! Danielle ditched us to ride there with her aunt and uncle, once we got there it was fun, fun, fun for all.
Bubba and Lindz enjoyed making sand castles!
We all enjoyed anticipating how Aubrey would react for her first time in the sand! She was a trooper. She really loved it and we loved spending the day lounging, flying a kite, and playing at the park. The kids just LOVE California and the beaches at Grandma's. It will be all they talk about for a LONG TIME!
