05.27.2010 More Vacation Fun

Besides the daily questions of when are you coming home (from friends - not from the kids) I'm sure you are all dying to see what we are doing.

Truth be told - - ME TOO!

However, it just isn't working out. At mom's i had photo upload software but no link cable for my camera. At my sisters i have link cable but no photo software..and i am afraid if i download Picassa it might crash her dinosaur computer. BTW what's the point of having Fiber-Optic speed cable with an ancient computer?! I'll tell you, just frustration!

Honestly though, i've stayed FAR, FAR, away from a computer this whole trip. I couldn't be happier.

There is however, an ugly side to vacation. I've gained 10 pounds - and i don't mean the FIGURATIVELY - i mean LITERALLY. If we are telling the truth it's more like 13 pounds ... but who's counting. And who does that?! Goes on vacation and gains so much none of her clothes fit?!! ME! And in the words of that McDonalds jingle "I'm Lovin It"!! Not the weight, but the bliss.

So the 30day shred and Jillian & I will become fast friends when i get home.

But i digress - our vacation has included:

-Animal Feeding
-Ice Cream Devouring
-Haircuts
-Zoo animal gazing
-More Park Fun
-Lizard Catching
-Sprinkler Sprinting
-EATING
-Movie Watching
-Swimming pools and lounge chairs
-Childrens Museums
-Lots of Rumikube, Sorry, Battleship games
-Endless hours w/ Mario on the DS
-Puppy petting (7 Labradoodles dogpiled on Sis is Hilarious to watch)
-Cousin kissing (in that cute kid way)
-Pirate Pretending
-EATING
-Swimming & Sunbathing
-did i mention EATING?
-Homework FINISHING!

And so much more. I promise i will share when i reach my homeland some day. At this point i am still trying to enjoy this 2 1/2 weeks turned 30 full day vacation.

AND LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT.

05.25.2010 We Don't Tan We "Freckle"

It's the truth.

I get a lil' sun on my arms or my chest and i freckle.

Sadly - the kids - especially Sis, do the same. They get that gene from their father who was once a nearly red-haired freckled kid himself. So sis is starting her freckle complexion and Bubs is following in the freckle gene.

I would slather some 50spf on them but it seems so unfair. It's California and we look like natives from Iceland. So for now they get 35-45spf and freckle.

But that doesn't stop our resident FISH from getting in the pool every free minute of the day! Sis is a water lover.

05.10.2010 Vacation Recap

Yes, we are still on vacation. No, i don't have my cable for uploading any photos. Yes, that sucks. But luckily my honey is sending me a care pkg box full of all the things that did not get transferred from his car to Erick's so by Weds. we should be in business. Hmmm, what have we been doing?

Oh that's just the tip of the iceburg. And YES we went to Disneyland. Oh, and being that i had NO MONEY whatsoever however did we manage that? Well, lets just say my sis has connections for EVERYTHING. 6 people at DISNEYLAND for FREE and an AWESOME meal at Rainforest Cafe for 1/2 off. Grandma helped out there and for seriously adorable Mickey/Minnie hats for the kids. Seriously! It was sooooo awesome. The kids loved it. I'll post the whole deal once i can get some pics put together.

We have 2 MORE glorious weeks ahead. I can't imagine it getting much better. But i know it will. Today is nap/catch up day to make up for Thurs/Fri that we spent on the road and at Disneyland. It's a lot of homework so much whining on the part of one little girl. My boy breezed through 5 pages like they were a snap!

05.02.2010 Life's a Beach

Well we're here. The house is cared for, the dogs are happy, and we have made it safely to our destination! We've had an excellent few days. I went blonde and all just for my trip...do you know where we are??? CALIFORNIA.

Oh yes. We've been to the Beach, the park, and the park again today. I got some sun bcuz i chose NO SUNSCREEN while i slathered 50spf all over the kids. They are safely little "CASPER" still. We are sooooo enjoying the cousins.

The kids met the newest addition (Addyson) for the first time on Saturday. Sis has taken over roll of the Big Cousin/Big Sister mentoring role for her cousin Aubrey. It just melts my heart to watch. Since she won't be getting any little sisters in her future she is fully enjoying every minute. I am enjoying Aubrey and her little sister immensely. They are so mellow - i was thinking of a draft trade. 2 potty trained demons for 2 mellow little girls- do you think my sis will go for it? Likely not.
